Navigating ETHS: Resources for Families – Sept. 19

This town hall-like meeting will begin with brief presentations followed by a question and answer session. The evening will conclude with an informal period during which parents and guardians can speak to the panelists individually. All parents and guardians of ETHS students are invited to this free event.  No sign-up is required.

Community Conversations with ETHS

For the third consecutive school year, Evanston Township High School (ETHS) District 202 will host a series of Community Conversations, a series of discussions that allow stakeholders to engage in a meaningful dialogue about the high school. Prospective or new ETHS families, District 202 community members, business owners, and people who work in Evanston/Skokie organizations or businesses are invited to join District 202 Superintendent Eric Witherspoon for the 2013 Community Conversations.

Staff members from ETHS will be available to answer questions, help refine understanding of key issues, and build awareness of the school’s current efforts. Since each student’s high school experience is unique, ETHS also encourages participation by families who have enrolled children at ETHS in the past and may be sending their younger children to ETHS.

ETHS Community Conversations are free and open to the public.

The fall series of Community Conversations will be held at three community centers:

  • Wednesday, September 18, 2013 | 7:00-8:30pm – Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Avenue, Evanston, IL 60202
  • Wednesday, October 30, 2013 | 7:00-8:30pm – Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd., Evanston, IL 60201
  • Wednesday, November 20, 2013 | 7:00-8:30pm – Fleetwood-Jourdain Center, 1655 Foster Street, Evanston, IL 60201

Look for us at Boosterpalooza

Look for the ETHS Parents Engaged table at the Boosterpalooza – stop by, say hello and pick up your membership card. No dues to pay or forms to fill out – you are already a member!

The ETHS Boosters are kicking off the school year with their first ever Boosterpalooza on Saturday, September 7, 7:00-10:00pm. The event will be held on the rooftop of Sherman Plaza Parking, 821 Davis Street in Evanston. There will be live bands, food from Evanston restaurants, and a raffle – all served up along with the best view of the city.

The ETHS Booster Club encourages and promotes all extracurricular activities at ETHS – and is one of the only Booster clubs in the area to support music, fine arts, and after-school clubs, in addition to sports. Every student at ETHS benefits in some way from the Booster Club.

Entertainment for the evening includes:

  • ETHS Marching Band
  • ETHS Jazz Band
  • Vernon Clark and the Heir to Joy Gospel Choir
  • Chicken Bone

With Boosterpalooza as their primary fundraiser this year, the Booster Club has set a fundraising goal of $30,000. Sponsorship opportunities are available at various levels. Click here for sponsorship details.

Tickets are available on the ETHS Boosters website (www.ethsboosters.org):

General Admission $25 per person
Palooza Package $75 = 1 General Admission + 12 Food/Drink Tickets ($5 value each)
Parent Sponsor $250 = 2 General Admission + 24 Food/Drink Tickets ($5 value each) + 2 Raffle Tickets ($20 value each) + 2 Tshirts + Recognition on website and at event.
